INSIDE NOOSA'S NEW HOT SPOT
The guys behind Gold Coast-born institution Ze Pickle might be known for their decadent burgers, craft beer and unique bar snacks but we have to say, they also have a sharp eye for design.
We have worked with Ze Pickle founders Nathan Zukerman, Joey Day and Aaron Wilson previously and are always inspired by their creativity given they design and build each restaurant themselves, putting their own signature spin on each space.
Needless to say, we jumped at the chance to create some magic for their ultra-hip eatery on Sunshine Beach Road at Noosa Junction, formerly the home of one of KFC’s longest serving outlets.
DCQ Constructions were given the task of revamping the existing restaurant while Rory from award-winning Gold Coast multidiscipline design studio, Studio Workshop, helped the Ze Pickle team with layout and floor plans transforming the former KFC into an urban, sexy space with concrete floors, custom-made furniture and lighting and exposed brick.
Our talented team created two bespoke pieces for the first Sunshine Coast Ze Pickle, an L-shaped bar benchtop in light charcoal and a striking custom colour curved bar and custom flutes in the same hue.
An old cold room door, which was saved from the demolition, opens into an exclusive secret bar out the back which is a hip function room people can book for exclusive events and private parties.
The restaurant opened late last year and is already a smashing success and a popular hangout for discerning locals and foodies.
