With the mercury dropping in Australia, there's nothing better than slipping into a warm bath in your own personal sanctuary at the end of the day.

With a growing trend towards bathrooms becoming more like personal wellness retreats and spas, clients are creating luxurious spaces for relaxation and escapism.

"People no longer regard [bathrooms]  as just spaces for washing and showering routines," interior designer Carole Tretheway told the Sydney Morning Herald. "They are looking to them for pleasurable experiences, for de-stressing and detoxing, and spending more time."

"They want tranquillity and a space that reflects their personality, while choosing quality materials and fittings with longevity and practicality."
