DESIGNING and renovating your dream bathroom is no mean feat - even for the seasoned professionals.

An extension of the living spaces and the bedrooms, the perfect bathroom needs to be both functional and aesthetically pleasing, particularly as the modern bathroom is now treated as a personal wellness retreat.

We recently created a bespoke vanity for the home of Tim Connah, interior designer and decorator behind Sydney-based company, Visualising Interiors.

Tim, who hails from the Northern Beaches, told us his existing bathroom was ‘dated’ and that the monochromatic style didn’t match the property’s beachside locale.

“The inspiration behind the renovation was to inject some of our creative personalities into our new home,” Tim told us. “We were heavily inspired by all things natural and used a lot of natural timber, handmade Moroccan tiles and the beautiful Concrete Nation vanity.”

Tim, who is currently in the process of designing a Greek-inspired rustic bathroom for another client, opted for Champagne Meir tapware as he felt it had a warm finish and brought a sense of ‘luxe’ to balance out the raw finishes.

His advice for budding bathroom renovators?

“Our advice would be to have detailed plans,” he says. “Have all of your materials fittings and fixtures organised. This will make for a very streamline process when dealing with trades and getting your concept across.”

If this was our bathroom, we’d never leave home.
